Connie Massalon-Elliget and her husband Tommy Elliget spent hours installing more than 10,000 lights to transform their Lady’s Island home to a Christmas wonderland. This is the second year the couple has engaged in extreme Christmas decorating, a task that includes serving as a dropoff center for letters to Santa. “Last year, 15 children left letters in our Santa mailbox,” Massalon-Elliget said. She said children who include a self-addressed stamped envelope are guaranteed to receive a special reply from the big guy himself. The display at 7 Tuscarora Avenue in Pleasant Point will remain lit nightly through January 3. Asa Aarons Smith/The Island News
