On November 7, in view of the upcoming local Veterans Day celebrations, the Gen. Richard H. Anderson Camp 47 Sons of Confederate Veterans met and honored two Beaufort natives with the War Service Medal, one of the SCV’s highest awards. Commander Paul Griffin bestowed the award upon Henry Chambers for his U.S. Army service during the Korean War and to Maj. Robert de Treville for his U.S. Army service during Operation Desert Storm and additional Persian Gulf Operations.
