In June, 9-year-old Savannah Mangas wrote a letter to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island Commanding General Brig. Gen. Walker M. Field asking
for a swing set to be installed at the park in Wake Village. Brig. Gen. Field decided to make her wish come true; the swing set was completed Nov. 8. Lance Cpl.
