Hot defuel & refuel at MCAS Beaufort

A U.S. Army AH-64 Apache pilot waits for her aircraft to be refueled on MCAS Beaufort on Jan. 5. The fuel used to refuel was taken from a hot defuel from a C-17 Globemast III during a training exercise. Hot defueling is conducted when fuel is offloaded from an aircraft while the engines are running.
